NEVER USE THIS COMPANY. RUN AWAY!!

NEVER use this company! They are vial, liars, thieves and scammers! They overcharge, leave your belongings behind, break most of what they do take and steal the rest! Amanda is the biggest liar on the face of this planet. They will not show up when they say they will.. Absolutely the worst humans on the plant, the absolute worst company around, Thieves, and liars! Your items will be missing and broke and you can expect to be charged significantly more when they arrive than what was quoted. We had more broken items than we could count. Broken and missing dining room table chairs. The plastic mattresses covers they demand you buy, we’re torn and mattresses had mold on them and had to be thrown away. Stolen items. They will not unload your items until you sign stating all the items are there. Will only take cash or money orders! DO NOT TRUST UNITED NATION VAN LINES WITH ANYTHING!

Worst Move Experience

We have moved approximately 8-10 times and this was by far the worst experience. The movers were unprofessional, inexperienced, careless and did not provide the agreed services for specialty items nor did they provide the basic services as advertised. We paid for a "full pack" (everything would be packed by the movers including special packing for antiques and expensive items, disassembly and reassembly of beds, bookcases, and other specialty items such as the grandfather clock, etc.). We were assured that the movers and van would be company employees and equipment and would be experienced movers. .Neither happened. None of the dressers or desk drawers were packed, but were merely wrapped in plastic. Beds were taken down but only one was reassembled. A large three section bookcase was disassembled but not re-assembled - still looking for parts. The driver and van were wildcatters. Only the lead packer was an employee, who did not adequately supervise the day laborers. Packing was so poor that most of the furniture was scratched, chipped, or otherwise damaged. No packing materials were used for expensive items such as a crystal chandelier, antique lamp shades, antique clocks and all were damaged despite assurances that they would be specially packed. The clocks were not packed properly - the mechanisms were not protected and two of the clocks were not wrapped at all, but placed in boxes without packing materials. An antique clock will need to be taken to a clock smith for repairs. The trim on another clock was broken. One exception to lack of packing was that a $10,000 mink coat was used as packing material for a toy airplane. None of the electronic equipment was wrapped - just placed in boxes with other items. The wires for many of the electronic items were place in one box, not with the specific item.

We have pictures of the damage and the other issues. Most of the boxes were not marked (the lead packer had to borrow a marker) and related items were placed in multiple boxes (items for the grandfather clock were placed in five separate unmarked boxes. A number of boxes were only partially full and one box contained trash from the movers (water bottles, lunch papers, etc). A number of boxes contained items that were not wrapped with any packing material such as nesting of antique lamp shades that completely destroyed the shades. We were assured that the volume of 3000 cf would be sufficient by the sales person (she used visual inspection of the entire house via phone); however, the QA rep stated that a full load (4200 cf) was necessary (based upon pictures from the MLS) and that items would be left behind if we didn't pay for a full truck for an additional $6,000. When we complained about the poor packing and the refusal to provide documentation for the items in the van (we were given the drivers first name and his cell number on a scrap of paper), plus we we only allowed to take a photo of the first page of the paper work. The "inventory list" did not list each box nor were the boxes labeled. We were told that an inventory was not required as our items were the only ones in the van. When we complained the lead packer and driver refused to provide the name or contact info to submit a complaint. The van was not full, but the driver held our items hostage unless we paid for the full load. He was visibly upset that we paid with money orders in order to have documentation that we paid. He wanted cash. We were promised that the inventory list and final documentation would be sent to us - we are still waiting since the unloading on Feb 8, 2021. The unloading was a disaster-extra day laborers were hired as the drivers stated that he was in a hurry. Runners were not placed one the wood floor until it was scratched in a number of places. Glides on the furniture were displaced by rough handling (one was found in the street) and caused additional damage to the wood flooring. Due to the rush, items were placed randomly without direction in the garage and on the second and first floors.

Long-distance move from Sacramento, CA to Clinton Township, MI

Thank you for great service.

Thank you for the great service and reasonable price. We will be using you again if we have to move. The movers you gave us were very good at their job and managed to pack, load, move, unload and unpack all my fragile items without a single thing being scratched or broken so that was very nice. There is only one thing – we were moving to Michigan so it’s a long distance, so if you could provide something like a GPS way for us to track the delivery vehicle on our own in real time that would be very helpful.

Long-distance move from Indianapolis, IN to Port Saint Lucie, FL

Terrible experience

The terrible experience began with a late pick up, causing a delay in the new homeowners possession and delaying my arrival to Florida. Then I was overcharged significantly after belongings were loaded and after I had omitted numerous items since I was given the estimate, like an entire shed full and some large house items. There were multiple broken items including a bed, 65in tv, dining room chair, mirrors, dishes, picture frames, scratched cherry wood floors, damaged walls, and more. Items were left in the home, thankfully the new owners notified me. I believe I have glass shelving that belongs to someone else, as it is not mine. Items were dumped or thrown into boxes and items from different rooms were mixed together. Most packages were not labeled so we had to open as it was unpacked to guess which rooms they belong to. Customer service does not respond since receiving final payment. I have called several times and sent an email. I spoke with Nadine who I was told is the customer service supervisor. She stated she would listen to the previous calls I made to customer service and return my call the next day. That has been over a month ago and I have left voicemails every week and sent an email. Still no response.

Long-distance move from Mountain View, CA to Seattle, WA

They lie, are slow, break things, unprofessional.

Wished we had moved our goods with uhaul. United nation van lines will lie to you in order to get your business. They take a very long time to deliver goods and no matter what they say they will deposit them in a warehouse until they feel like delivering. This additional unpacking creates damage and wear and tear on your goods. Your goods will sit with furniture blankets and strapping tightly around them in a hot warehouse that may deform and discolor furniture like happened to mine.

They poorly wrapped several of my items which broke including a lamp shade and marble side table. So I paid for them to pack and break my items. The basic replacement policy of $.60 on a pound Makes the cost to file a claim almost worthless other than to force them to take responsibility.

They failed to deliver one item outright and movers left my apartment with a closet full of boxes that they returned and ushered out without properly tagging and recording when I called them back.

The company has almost no customer service and a bad attitude. What’s worse is I paid extra based on their lies over competitors. I don’t think you could pick a worse moving company than United nation van lines.

We are out a lot of money due to the damage on numerous items and spent nearly 3 weeks sleeping on the floor waiting for them when they lied and said it would be much shorter And lied and said that our goods would not be put in a warehouse. What’s worse is somehow they have very good ratings on consumer affairs and they should be ashamed of themselves for posting this company as reputable. There are more honest more liable and cheaper companies out there.

Long distance from CA to PA 9/12/2021

I had no idea that this company was going to put my things in a supposed warehouse. They picked up in 2 rental trucks, said they transf to semi across country. I cannot get anyone to give me owners name. No one will commit to shipping out my things. I am a senior and need my box of medical records. They said I should not have given them to move. I have empty house in PA and don't know what to do. I was told that they legally have 30 business days to deliver your goods, so that is why they don't care and don't respond to anyone. They don't care that I need these medical records for a new provider in CA, as I don't keep elec. records. I am sick and not getting proper care. My house is empty. Please do not use this company as I think they might not ever deliver my things and I will loose all my original life documents. I cannot recreate all of them at my age. I might as well not be living now instead of trying to deal with this any longer. This company and the people who work for them are all hiding information and they are a fraud. I paid over $15K for 4 bedroom house that I probably will never see my things again. If you are an attorney and read this, please repond as to what I'm supposed to do.

The WORST!

I have moved back & forth overseas and x-country several times - this company is by far THE WORST moving company EVER. They are very helpful until the contract is signed and deposit paid. Then good luck getting anyone on the phone!

Day of move, their rep kept trying to stretch the load (we paid by cubic foot). Thank goodness for the local hires that wouldn't let him get away with it & told us what was happening!

When we received our household goods - OMGoodness!! My dining table that does not come apart and left our home in one piece, arrived in 3 pieces. An antique side table (one piece) arrived in 6 pieces. Boxes arrived that looked like elephants played soccer with them.

We expected some breakage, but this was beyond normal.

We also received someone elses property. I got 12 pairs of someones shoes delivered with mine. How does this even happen?!?!

Would not recommend this company AT ALL - They need to be shut down.

Long-distance move from Arlington, WA to Inola, OK

Terrible service

Hired United Nations Van Lines after company we had booked for 2 months flaked on us. at first, we thought everything was good, Eric Meyer spent quite a bit of time on the phone with us getting all our information and the contents of our two storage units on paper a 10x20 and 10x15. gave us a quote for 2600 cubic feet of goods to be moved. price was given papers signed and deposit paid. On appointed day and time movers showed up, we were anticipating the long-haul truck but instead a 26' truck showed up. I called and was told this is how it is done now so we agreed to proceed with move. After 2 days and two trips our stuff was loaded out of storage units. The final quote we were given was for 3699 cubic feet 199 cubic foot more than our storage units could hold we had a (10x20 and 10x15) if filled floor to ceiling front to back, we were about 75-80% full which is 2625 to 2800 cubic foot, not much we could argue since they had our stuff. We gave them a delivery day one week from pickup for delivery, we hurried up and loaded our truck and started the journey to our destination. On the appointed day we called to find out what time the truck would arrive only to be told our goods had not even left our old state. We called two times a week for the next 2 weeks to get the same answer. So, 25 days after pickup our stuff finally shows and up of course you must pay the remaining balance before they will unload your belongings holding your stuff hostage. I paid remaining balance in full, unloading commences and to my horror I am looking at boxes that do not even resemble boxes. After the truck was unloaded, I measured the space used and it calculated out to be 2700 cubic feet, but I had already paid for 3699 cubic feet. Some of the items broken are irreplaceable antiques and family heirlooms. The amount of damaged and broken items is beyond belief and the driver says to report to company. standard insurance is .60 per pound, to get full coverage they wanted to charge us $40277.25 which was almost two times the cost of the move. I would never recommend United Nation Van Lines to even my enemies. I am trying to get a refund on the difference between 3699 and 2700 cubic feet which is about $5800.00. POOR SERVICE, SCAM ARTISTS AND NOT EVEN CONCERNED WITH HOW THEY HANDLE YOUR BELONGINGS.

Long-distance move from Evanston, WY to Eagle Point, OR

NOT Recommended! (It is NO STARs)

3 bedroom townhouse-no yard, no garage, estimated at 6k for move almost 900 miles. Truck was half packed and they asked for 2500 more to finish loading-under estimation of space needed. Day before delivery, was called and told it was an additional 1000 before they would unload the truck due to them needing to offload into a smaller truck for the delivery address. Final cost was 9,800! Many broken items, extremely disrespectful, no customer service, forged my signature on agreement to pay prior to delivery. DO NOT USE this company.

Unresponsive, seems like a scam.

They were very responsive when they were trying to get my business. They picked up my belongings on Sept 8 2020 and charged me $4,129.88. They told me it would not get there before 7 days but to expect it between 8 to 10 days away. It is 14 days now and no one takes my calls or calls me back. Dead silence.

They have my belongings and $4,129.88. No clue where. Not a comfortable feeling.

Don't use them!

Long-distance move from Tacoma, WA to White Plains, MD

Buyer Beware.

We contracted this company to move our senior 75-year-old mother from Washington State to Maryland, and the expected pick-up was 8/24, and they didn't show up until 8/28. We sent emails to cancel due to the late pick-up and non-response, but customer service is non-existent. When they arrived, they did so in an Enterprise Rental Truck even though we were told during the sales pitch that the belonging would be retrieved in a van line that would show the cubic feet on the inside to solidify the final cubic feet cost. Upon arrival, the movers doubled the initial quote's fee, and because my mother had to be out of her house - we were forced to agree to the "estimate". However, we were promised it was only an estimate until they returned to the warehouse, and once it was off-loaded onto the van line - the actual cubic feet would be confirmed. Well, that never happened, and after weeks of calls and emails to customer service, they conveniently obtained amnesia. My mother's belongings remained in a warehouse for weeks. We made several attempts to get the actual cubic feet and get an expected delivery date - and after almost a month, the belongings finally arrived. Needless to say, they never altered the "estimated" price to provide actual readings and threatened to return my mother's belongings to CA if unpaid. An initial quote of 4,600 became 10,000 without an explanation. They don't answer the phone nor reply to emails unless payment is required. We had to report this company governing agencies and retain a lawyer to protect our interests.

I recommend them for doing an excellent job.

A broken foot left me no choice but to pay for professional movers and I was pretty unhappy about that. Now, though, I think that using United Nation Van Lines again will definitely be a good option even if I am healed. They moved my 1-bedroom in Virginia to a studio apartment in Massachusetts and I am impressed with the job they did. Speed is their forte but they maintain a fast pace without compromising your things. Nothing was broken and as far as I can tell, no damage either. I recommend them for doing an excellent job.

Damaged and lost

This company seems very good in the beginning, the movers that picked up my belongings was great but the when it was delivered alot of my stuff was missing and alot of fragile crystal was destroyed, the price in the beginning was different the end price thousands of dollar difference, I am not going to be super negative but this company needs to do better. I am very disappointed with the price I paid and the service I received, I will never use them again.

United Nation Van Lines helped us out of a real mess by fitting us in at the last moment. The lease at our old apartment in New York was expiring and we had to move by a particular date or be forced to cough up an extra month of rent. United Nation Van Lines was the only moving company that shifted their things around to slot us in. It really shows you who you can rely on when things are dicey. I have no plans to move but I am telling everyone I can about their generous move and encouraging people to hire them. Perfect service.

Thanks United Nation

United Nation Van Lines deserves every 5 star rating that they have got in these reviews. This was the fifth time that I have hired them and they have been nothing short of perfect every single time. I don’t think any other company could have pulled off a record feat like that. Take every metric – rates, courtesy, speed, care – and they blow the competition out of the water on every one. I trust them to move my stuff better than I trust myself to do it. I will be using them again.

Long-distance move from Bakersfield, CA to White House, TN

Dishonest company and will overcharge

Here are the facts:

• We moved from a 10x20x9' storage unit (1800 cu. ft. total) that was about 75-80% full (which would equal approx. 1350-1440 cu. ft.).

• We were only quoted for 1141 cu. ft.

• We ended up with about 25 more boxes than I had indicated on our inventory, but other than that, the inventory I gave was EXTREMELY accurate.

• I was told that their Q.A. person, Lisa, would give me a call the day prior to our move to “confirm” our inventory. She never did. I had been told by Roland (salesperson) that I should ‘wait’ to confirm my inventory until the Q.A. person called me!

• Once the movers had packed up the truck at our storage unit, they told us it took up 1700 cu. ft. At $5.30 per cu. ft., that was going to be an additional $3k. My husband watched them pack the whole truck and the first half of the truck they didn’t pack nearly as tightly as WE (the NON-professionals) had packed our storage unit. By the end, they were forced to pack a lot more tightly because they were running out of space on the truck!! (This was on a ‘box’ truck they brought to the storage facility . . . our stuff was later to be loaded onto an 18-wheeler.)

• My husband asked about the discrepancy, but was only told that “there was more than what was on the inventory”. He went ahead and signed the paperwork because he wasn’t sure what else he could do at the time. He assumed we would take it up later with the company.

• I did take it up with the company—later that very day. I sent an email because the office was already closed by that point. I heard nothing back.

• 5 messages and 3 weeks later, Nadine finally called me back. I asked her about the discrepancy and she wouldn’t even let me explain the situation fully without interrupting and arguing with me. She kept claiming that she 'wasn’t there’ and so she had no way of knowing how the truck was packed. She asked me why my husband hadn’t taken any pictures and why he didn’t question the foreman about the job. I told her that he DID question the foreman about the ‘end’ result, but that his answer was inadequate. If we had 25 additional boxes to what was on our inventory (which is what I was eventually told), based on their own estimates, that would have been equal to an additional 75 - 112.5 cu. ft. (depending on whether they were considered "med" or "large" boxes), NOT the additional 559 cu. ft. we were being charged for.

• Nadine told me she would call dispatch to verify. She called me back and said that they “confirmed” that our shipment was 1700 cu. ft. She told me I had to wait until the 18-wheeler arrived with our stuff on it and I could talk to the driver then and he could show me on the truck where our stuff came up to.

• The 18-wheeler arrived and when I talked to the driver, he had NO idea about our dispute. We had to pay the entire amount (for the 1700 cu. ft.) up front before they would even begin unloading our stuff.

• One of the main questions I had at the start was to confirm that United Nation was an actual “moving” company and not simply a “broker” who would sell our job to another transport company. Roland assured me that they had all of their OWN trucks and all of their OWN drivers. This is simply NOT TRUE. The driver who dropped off our stuff told me outright that he did not work for United Nation Van Lines and that he worked for a completely separate transport company.

• I took pictures of the entire unloading process and when they were done, the driver showed me that our stuff went up to the 1500 cu. ft. mark on the truck. (The space I was charged for also included a HUGE pile of UNUSED moving blankets! Why were we being charged for the space that those took up!?) I took all of that information & sent it (& the pictures) to Nadine, as she had asked.

• Nadine didn’t care. Her response was this: “I did explain to you why Dispatch advised that there was no comp warranted on this account . . . the decision was made by dispatch that no comp was warranted on this account.” So, basically, I did exactly what she had told me to do: I waited until the driver showed up with our stuff, I took pictures of the entire process, I asked the driver to show me where our stuff went up to on the truck, he confirmed that it only reached the 1500 cu. ft. mark and it MADE NO DIFFERENCE WHATSOEVER. I had CLEAR proof that I was being overcharged and they refused to accept it.

The bottom line is that I was only asking to pay what was FAIR and for the space we ACTUALLY took up on the truck. We chose a professional moving company for the first time ever to try and eliminate some stress for ourselves. I won’t ever make that mistake again. This was the most stressful move I have ever experienced (and we have done quite a few—including moves overseas and back!!). The only reason moving companies like this one get away with this is because they are let off the hook time and time again. It’s not right.

Not a single item got damaged

There is no doubt that we will hire United Nation Van Lines again for our next move. In our move to Maryland from Vermont, they completed the entire thing ahead of schedule even though we had ended up needing more time and space for packing and loading some things we had not been able to sell. We were charged a bit more than the regular price for that but I guess it was inevitable. Otherwise, their pricing is one of the main reasons we hired them. Other than that, the people are actually nice and it’s easy to get along with them.

Amazing service

I recommend United Nation Van Lines and rate them 5 stars for a perfect move. This was my first experience with a professional moving company and I am really glad it was so simple and smooth. Initially, I was really apprehensive after reading some terrible stories (with other companies). My fears were sort of soothed over by the customer service agents. They described and explained the process very well in layman’s terms. On moving day, they were on time and very hardworking - basically, all work and no play. I had a really easy time since they handled everything so well.

Very happy to recommend them.

5 star rating for a 5 star performance by United Nation Van Lines. I have used huge instantly recognizable moving companies as well as small, two-man operations. I find that United Nation Van Lines gives me the quality service from the first group and the affordable cost of the second. In some respects, they even seem to give better service than big companies while still keeping their prices in the lower range. I hired them to move my studio apartment in NC to a 2-bedroom house in FL. The movers did the job perfectly without needing excessive supervision from me. Very happy to recommend them.

Perfect job, thank you

My move went off better than I could have ever expected, thanks to the great work done by the lovely people who work at United Nation Van Lines. They made every step of the journey a breeze, from breaking down the costs and charges in the initial quote, to helping us prepare for move day, and then doing such a perfect job with the move itself. It really gave us a sense of control over what is really such a messy and unpredictable process. An extra thank you for not causing a single bit of damage to any of our things!

Finally a move that I did not find to be a nightmare! United Nation Van Lines surprised us with how well they do the job as compared to several other companies that we had hired before. The move did end up costing slightly more for the better service but I didn’t think it would be enough for such a completely different experience. I don’t know if it was a fluke (the reviews seem to suggest it’s not) but they have definitely earned my respect and, more importantly, my trust to the point that United Nation Van Lines will be my first choice for my next move.

No Complaints, good move.

When I first came across United Nation Van Lines when reading reviews for moving companies, I was not sure if they were actually as good as everyone said they were. Now, after having used them myself just once, I can attest that they are probably better. When they give you an initial quote, it is generally more accurate than what other companies do. When they say they are going to finish a job by a certain time, they abide by it. And when they deliver your things, it all arrives safe and sound. Very happy with my hire and recommend them highly.

Awesome Company

My most important criteria for judging a moving company’s performance are reliability, speed and cost, basically in that order. That is why I have been choosing United Nation Van Lines every time for my last 3 house moves. They have never let me down in terms of losing or breaking or scratching my things. They arrive for pickup as scheduled and deliver at the destination within the time they promise. While they are slightly more expensive than the average, I think it’s money well spent for the safe and timely way they complete every move. As always, I would recommend this company.

Happy with my move.

Love to recommend United Nation Van Lines after seeing first hand their excellent service after they were recommended to me by a friend who swears by them after first using them a few years ago. What I found was that the service is punctual, with both the pickup and delivery done within the scheduled windows. Their movers know their job, something that you can tell from the way that they handle big and heavy items. All their equipment and even the vehicle were in good condition. Very importantly for me, the price was just right. I would easily use them again.

Do NOT hire this company

Do NOT hire this company.

United’s sales department (Roland) talked a good talk in terms of stating how it had been rated number 1 in interstate travel and was no longer affiliated with Moving Nation which it evolved from and had a horrible reputation. We did our own research and believed what Roland had said. After numerous negotiations, and the fact that we were moving a very large home from NM to NY, we decided that renting an enitre 18 wheeler was the best option. We discussed with him the fact that the new house was located on a mountain road/slight uphill, and after looking at maps, he assured us that it would not be a problem for the truck as there is a 4 way intersection just up the road and he could turn around there. Hiring the entire truck was also based on a binding not to exceed estimate as we continually voiced our concern that we did not want to get a demand for more monies due before they delivered. Finally, we were assured that there would be foreman and a company crew at loading and unloading. I was told that because we were moving to a smaller community, that they had the option of flying in a crew to assist the foreman and driver.

Approximately 2 weeks before the move, we received an anonymous email stating that the person was a former employee, that the company was still Moving Nation, and not to hire them. I called Roland and was assured it was disgruntled fromer employee. To this day, they have not told me how this person got my email.

The first day of the move the foreman arrived first followed by a crew of local workers with no affiliation with United. The foreman was extremely knowledgeable and we were satisfied with how it was handled. The driver was also not affiliated with United as he was an independent. The foreman asked us for additional monies after everything was loaded into the truck as they had used more packing supplies than estimated. It should be noted that the truck was to load our Honda Goldwing yet did not have the proper ramps and we had to leave it in NM to incur another shipping cost this spring.

After the driver left with our entire household, we were contacted by Tina with United who

stated that we may have to pay for the goods to be offloaded into a smaller truck as it was

unlikely that the truck could make it up the hill. We voiced our concern, told her about what Roland had said about the truck having no issue and her response was that he should not have said that. In addiiton, she said the company would contact us if they deemed we should get a rebate as they could not load the trike and would have to incur another transport fee.

We left for NY approximately 4 days after the truck. After spending two nights in another state to visit family, we were able to make it to NY in an RV well before the truck arrived. The

unaffiliated driver told us that he had stopped at home (another state) and got stuck in weather we never encountered.

Once in town, the driver (Victor) stated that he could not make it up our hill even in the summer

weather and the goods were going to have to be offloaded at a substantial increase in cost to us. This was about the time that Roland decided to stop taking our phone calls. Tina actually had the audacity to tell me we should have known that tractor trailers could not back up.

Further, there was NO foreman on the delivery end and no people to help the driver. We had to contact personal friends to have them come to help offload the goods ! Once our goods were offloaded we immediatly noticed that numerous items had been damaged. We did not make a claim as it would not be worth our time at this point. In addition, we never received a follow up from United to determine our opinion of the move. Horrible company that should not be in business.
